Spybot S&D will not start

I have downloaded the latest version. I have deleted older versions. When I click on Spybot S&D to open, it initiates and says it is opening Temporary Files Folder then freezes. I click to close it and it states that the program is not responding. Please help. ( p.s. I delted Ad-a-ware Program in case that was a conflict problem)

Something is blocking S&D!???

Please do the following:
Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:

* Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
* Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
* Click the "Delete Cookies" button
* Next to it, Click the "Delete Files" button
* When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content",
click OK

Clean your Cache and Cookies in Firefox (In case you also have
Firefox installed):

* Go to Tools > Options.
* Click Privacy in the menu on the left side of the Options window.
* Click the Clear button located to the right of each option
(History, Cookies, Cache).
* Click OK to close the Options window
Alternatively, you can clear all information stored while browsing
by clicking Clear All.
A confirmation dialog box will be shown before clearing the
information.

Clean other Temporary files + Recycle bin

* Go to start > run and type: *cleanmgr* and click ok.
* Let it scan your system for files to remove.
* Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle
Bin are the only things checked.
* Press OK to remove them.

Thank you for your response. I completed all the tasks and nothing changed. The program is not responding. The small square S&D icon appears says it's loading Temporary files folders and freezes. ... also slows everything on my computer down to almost a stop until I right click to close S&D Error ...message states that the program is not responding.

Perhaps it helps if you disable the "DisableTempFolderCleaning".

Please create a registry value in the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Safer Networking Limited\Tweaks\Application.exe\

Replace Application.exe with the name of the executable it should affect, no paths used. Or, if you want the tweak to apply globally to all our products, simply use this path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Safer Networking Limited\Tweaks\

Use this tweak to completely skip the new function that tries to clear the systems temp folder to speed up scans:

DisableTempFolderCleaning : REG_DWORD = 00000000 (default if not set)

DisableTempFolderCleaning : REG_DWORD = 00000001 (does not offer temp folder cleaning on app start)

Also...

May i ask what is your operating system? (windows 98, xp, vista, etc.?)
Also did you do you follow all directions for completely removing spybot? Then you installed the latest version?

PS: when you use the "small fix" use Internet explorer to download and run the fix.

I am just wondering, because if spybotsandra's suggestions do not work, if you could answer those questions that would help alot. :) Thanks!
