View Full Version : Run as an Administrator NOT available

Help, I can not remove nasty items off my computer with Spybot because I am not running as administrator. When I follow the directions for VISTA ie. right click on Spybot folder in start up menu I do not get the run as administrator choice in the menu.

Is this because I am logged in as admin / user in windows? or am I missing something?

I would really like to remove the malware that is running a muck

If your using Windows XP or below then the Vista Admin instructions for Spybot won't work.

Also,if you are running Vista,make sure you don't rightclick the Spybot S&D with the folder icon beside it in the start menu.Click that once to open it,and rightclick the Spybot-Search & Destroy with the icon with the magnifying glass on it.You can see it here highlighted in blue,for an example:

Also,if you have a desktop icon or quicklaunch icon,rightclicking those should show Run As Administrator on Vista.
