uninstalling Spybot

I need to uninstall Spybot and when I try I get the followig message: Messages file "C:\ program files Spybot-Search & Destroy\unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.

How can I get this file or alternatively, install Spybot?

It looks like you're missing the uninstall file. Open Spybot-SD and go to Help>About. This should tell you what version of Spybot-SD you have on your computer.

Say like you have version 1.5.2.20, thus you'll have to download spybot152.exe and execute it. In other words, you'll have to install the same version of Spybot-SD over the current one.

Thanks DR, it's a little scarry to reinstall the same sowftward that's causing me so much trouble. If this doesn't work, then what?

I'm sure it'll work :santa:. I don't think you have tried it yet, have you?

I'm not sure what may have caused the uninstall file to 'disappear'. But I know the resolution to it.
