This is my first post..
my browsing slows down to molasses.
I had Spybot Spyware blaster Avast and Adaware. I removed Adaware this weekend thinking it was part of the problem. but i guess not.
I have repeatedly gotten "There were problems in the include file C:\ProgramFiles\Spybot - Search_Destroy\Includes\Trojans.sbi

Close browsers and fix checked.
Download Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/Deckard/dss.exe) to your Desktop. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
Close all applications and windows.
Double-click on dss.exe to run it, and follow the prompts.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open - main.txt <- this one will be maximized and extra.txt<-this one will be minimized
Copy (Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of main.txt and the extra.txt to your post. in your reply

Thank you so much for your help ..Before you answered my post my browser started to work well again - but Spybot still had the same messages. So I have done what you asked for:
All four items were there in the hijack this system scan and all four were fixed.

Using search there is one in C:WINDOWS\system32 and in C:WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
There is a SVCHOST.EX_ in C:\WINDOWS\I386
I ran Kaspersky using IE instead of Firefox as recommended by Kaspersky. It found 37 viruses and 147 objects and is, I suspect, too big to send pasted.

Everything went well except I did not find exactly C:WINDOWS\*svchost.exe*
Using search there is one in C:WINDOWS\system32 and in C:WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
There is a SVCHOST.EX_ in C:\WINDOWS\I386
Those other svchost.exe files are legal files. Don't delete them! If there isn't svchost.exe in c:\windows folder then you don't have to delete any.

Show hidden files

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Delete items in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine folder.
Then post a fresh hjt log one more time. You should also uninstall old Spybot 1.4 and get the latest one from this location (http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022-10122137.html?part=dl-spybot&subj=dl&tag=but).

Well that's a relief...
I erased the symantec quarantine file without any problems.
I had the new 1.6 Spybot already as per your advice above. (I had first uninstalled the old Spybot using add/remove programs) I ran it again anyway and there were no Problems!!!!
Before I past my Hijack this log... I have to say how great this has been... my computer is running a lot better!
I removed some programs I didn't need: Microsoft works, limewire, PCdoctor.
In the process i found some weird and not so weird things I'd like to get rid of as well:
In the Programs list there is
1.WeatherBug and Spam Subtract Manager but both not installed. Should I just leave them there?
2. Less weird is Compaq connections which is in start up which I always doubt its integrity so i stop it each time with windows task manager.
3. Can I uninstall Compaq Organize?
4. How do I get rid of the old Microsoft office 60 day free trial? or should i just leave it there and be grateful its all working... (a typical Canadian attitude)
5. When I removed my Norton stuff I left the firewall as it was still working...
but its really old . I should remove it right?

1.WeatherBug and Spam Subtract Manager but both not installed. Should I just leave them there?
If you don't need them you may remove.
2. Less weird is Compaq connections which is in start up which I always doubt its integrity so i stop it each time with windows task manager.

I'm not aware of those but basically if you shut down Compaq Connections from task manager you can save yourself from doing the process kill on every startup by fixing following entry with hjt:

It's your choice but for firewall I recommend either Online Armor Free (http://www.tallemu.com/free-firewall-protection-software.html) or Comodo Firewall Pro (http://download.comodo.com/cfp/download/setups/CFP_Setup_3.0.25.378_XP_Vista_x32.exe) (don't install SurfSafe toolbar if you choose Comodo). :)
