Yet another Qoovictim. ;) Have run the adware programs in safe mode and all that jazz, still no go. Usually spyware is no problem for me, but thought I should get some help using this Find-Qoologic tool and probably Killbox.

I have never run virus protection. I have always just used a firewall, and have been able to defeat anything that managed to work its way onto my computer (smitfraud, etc.).

Hi

I have never run virus protection. I have always just used a firewall, and have been able to defeat anything that managed to work its way onto my computer (smitfraud, etc.).

Well, you just had a new version of qoologic and i believe this
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: w8c6s4xcm66.dll
Is part of an win-eto aka crepper infection
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojkrepperae.html

Install atleast a free anti virus asap
Dont make the common mistake of installing more than one anti virus or firewall

AVG Anti-Virus-Free: http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php
AntiVir Personal Edition: http://www.free-av.com/
avast! 4 Home - Free antivirus software :
http://www.asw.cz/eng/free_virus_protectio.html

In addition to that go get an online scan weekly or byweekly
http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm
http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp

After thats done, post another new hiajckthis log.

I installed AGV and did a full scan. It found a bunch of Java zip files that it said were infected, so I removed those. Then it found a VIRUS Win32/Nsag in one file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\wininet.old, so I removed that. Otherwise it's clean, except for the HJT items I still haven't removed.

Looks good ShuHanGuanYu

Prevention:
Put in place a good hosts file
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Replace it about once monthly to keep it updated

To help avoid reinfection see "So how did I get infected in the first place?"
