Hi Spybot Team,

Well i have finally buckled down and decided to try to fix my computer. I have had spybot for a while now, at least 2 years. According to spybot after many scans, virtumonde is the only spyware left. I tried what it said, unplug the internet after scanning and fixing, restarted my computer and scanned again but to no avail. I am hoping you can help :)

Here is my HJT log right after a restart.

Hi videogamefreak

If you already have Smitfraudfix, please delete this copy and download it again as it's being updated regularly.

Please download SmitFraudFix.exe (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe) by S!Ri and save it to the desktop.

If you can't download it, please download it from these alternative sites:

From Geekstogo (http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.exe)
From Security Cadets (http://downloads.securitycadets.com/SmitfraudFix.exe)
From Zebulon (http://telechargement.zebulon.fr/259-smitfraudfix.html)

Double click on SmitfraudFix.exe.
Press 1 then hit the Enter key.
It will create a report named rapport.txt, usually at C drive.
Please post back this log in your next reply.

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user. Hi

You are still infected.

Please print out or copy these instructions/tutorial to Notepad as the internet will not be (while in Safe Mode) available to you at certain points of the removal process. Make sure to work through all the Steps in the exact order in which they are listed below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before moving on with the fixes.

Download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware (http://www.superantispyware.com/) Free for Home Users Double-click SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download and unzip them from here (http://www.superantispyware.com/definitions.html).)
______________________________

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode.
If the computer is running, shut down Windows, and then turn off the power.
Wait 30 seconds, and then turn the computer on.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
Ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.
Login on your usual account.
______________________________

Double-click on SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.
The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if you computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Oh yeah.. I almost forgot.. while trying to start it in safe mode i was pushing the wrong button, so i thought it wasn't working. So I was looking at the bottom it said push ESC for boot menu, so i did and it did a system restart or something. Now i can't play any CD games, i think i need to reinstall them but i really dont want to, is there another solution?

Hi

"Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED USER)\Local Settings\Temp

There wasnt a Local Settings folder :/"

Yes, that is hidden by default.

"So I was looking at the bottom it said push ESC for boot menu, so i did and it did a system restart or something. Now i can't play any CD games, i think i need to reinstall them but i really dont want to, is there another solution?"

Can you describe with more details?

Hi
Can you describe with more details?

Everything is running fine now without a problem. I had to reinstall my graphics card using the cd it came with. No problems any more :). So is there any more viruses I need to clean up?

Hi

We'll run one scanner to be sure :)

Please make sure that all programs are closed when installing Java.

Click here (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp) to visit Java's website.
Scroll down to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7. Click on Download.
Select Windows from the drop-down list for Platform.
Select Multi-language from the drop-down list for Language.
Check (tick) I agree to the Java SE Runtime Environment 6 License Agreement box and click on Continue.
Click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe link to download it and save this to a convenient location.
Double click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe to install Java.
After the Java installation has finished, please go to Kaspersky website (http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html) and perform an online antivirus scan.
Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button: Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
Archives
Click on My Computer under Scan.
Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.
Please post this log in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
