I noticed that my anti-virus software would turn off the protection by itself, but when I would check to correct the problem, I would be unable to do so. This has probably been going on for who knows how long, since about a week ago I enabled all notifications in the config section. Well just today it happens again and I go check it out, McAfee lists the virus protection as running and firewall up but still indicates an internet and network problem. So I open the control panel, hit network connections and viola, there's an internet gateway connect opened up in addition to my net adapter and Broadcom controller. I instantly lockdown firewall in McAfee, disable my adapter and controller, then try to disable the other connection which had no effect, after about 3 minutes it shuts down. Now I do a little more checking, Network Connections->Advanced->Network Ident.->opens System Props->Advanced (tab)->Settings (User Profiles), and damn if someone hasn't hacked an elevated administrator profile. They were able to disable and enable everything, Spybot, McAfee, AutoRuns, you name it. I've been looking for this for a long time only I wasn't sure exactly what was going on. I have installed some monitoring things to see if I couldn't find the problem as you'll see from my log. I appreciate any assistance so here's the log:

The only things I see there are a couple of out of date programs, nothing that would cause problems

I don't personally recommend the use of ANY registry cleaners.
Here is an excerpt from a discussion on regcleaners

Most reg cleaners aren't "bad" as such, but they aren't perfect and even the best have been known to cause problems.

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java and Adobe components and update.

Updating Java:
Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6u7 from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Scroll down to where it says "The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 update 7 allows end-users to run Java applications".
Click the "Download" button to the right.
Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.

Update Adobe Acrobat Reader

Cllick Download
On the right Untick Adobe Phototshop Album Starter Edition if you do not wish to include this in the installation.
Click the Continue button
Click Run, and click Run again
Next click the Install Now button and follow the on screen prompts

Now close all windows, including your browser.
Double click on the Java installation that you downloaded and follow the prompts.

Remove Programs
Now click Start---Control Panel. Double click Add or Remove Programs. If any of the following programs are listed there,
click on the program to highlight it, and click on remove.

Now close the Control Panel.

Reboot your machine.

Download and Run ComboFix (by sUBs)
