Hello

As I try to immunize the system I always find that Cookies for Opera always remain unprotected. The number of items in this category is 191. here are the screen shots:

Please tell me how can I resolve this issue.... :(

Thank you...

This problem occurs on Spybot-Search&Destroy 1.5.2.20. You can say that Spybot does not "recognize" newer Opera profiles. Upgrading to Spybot-SD 1.6.0.30 will resolve the problem. The latest version immunizes both Mozilla Firefox 3 and Opera 9.5.x.

Download the latest version at:

So, I'm not the only one? I tried to Immunize and Check Again four times and 191 items still remained Unprotected.

After installing the latest avast! and doing the required re-boot I opened S&D and tried four more times. Still no joy. I also tried updating again, but as expected I got "No newer updates."

I didn't take a screenshot, but the magic number "191" appears in Cookies for IE, Firefox and Opera.

as drragostea suggested, you need to install the latest version. Upgrading will resolve this issue. Remove spybot via add/remove programs. Then restart and download the latest spybot version from the spybot home page. :) :welcome: to the forums!

I wonder how they do the highlights . I haven't seen you in a while Mr. Warner :cowboy:. And thanks 129260, for "reinforcing" the idea.

There is also another version of Avast! out now (4.8.1229) which fixes compatability problems with Opera and D-Link Routers and the Avast!'s Standard Shield.

Thanks! Upgrading did resolve the issue. :)

emove spybot via add/remove programs. I did not do it. I installed the latest version over the older version. Is there any serious problem with that?

One more question: Some times I need to close down TeaTimer for certain reasons. Is it possible to restart the TeaTimer without restarting the PC?

Hello,

You mean enable it again?
- Go into Spybot - Mode - Advanced Mode - Tools - Resident.
- Check the following: Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.

If you close it down and not disabled it before you can start it by doubleclicking on the TeaTimer.exe in the Spybot folder itself.

Yes, I also believe that TeaTimer automatically starts with Windows during bootup.

Also, src, there is no problem installing version 1.6.0.30 over version 1.5.2.20.

Hi all,

I recently uninstalled Trend Micro and replaced it with AVG. I downloaded Spybot 1.6 and installed it but I can't immunize completely. I've uninstalled Spybot multiple times and I've used the .reg file then re-installed. I finally got frustrated last night and uninstalled it again, but now TeaTimer seems to be left over and it starts up even though Spybot isn't installed at all. Evidently a registry entry wasn't deleted even though I ran the .reg program.

The immunization process reports some 250,000 bad products but will only immunize against about 200,000 of them. I can re-install and report the details if that would be useful.

I'm running Windows XP SP2.

By the way, I also installed Spybot 1.6 on my laptop running Vista and AVG and it immunizes completely with no problems.

Any help?

Thanks

Thanks very much :)

There is no problem with TT when I boot my system, it starts automatically with windows. I was asking whether it can be started after being stopped manually, without restarting the Windows. Thank you for the solution again. I have found the TeaTimer.exe and double clicking on it solved my question.

BTW, with reference to an earlier post, I would like to inform that I have been using Spybot in two PCs and one with latest AVAST! home edition without any problem related to any activities of either of the programs.

I'm still seeing 43 plug-ins unprotected running 1.6 against Opera 9.51. Any suggestions?

Hello,

If you are not immunizing with full administrator rights, Spybot-S&D might not have enough permissions to fully immunize all user accounts.

If you are using Windows Vista, you should also read this FAQ entry about getting Administrator rights under Vista: www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/42.html

As a current solution you can try to "Undo" the Immunisation. Now the bad products are allowed.
Then "Immunize" again. This should solve the problem for now.

Some more information is available in our forum:
Immunize (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=117162&posted=1#post117162)
Immunize Problems (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=78)

Another thing though is that immunization only works properly while your browser is closed, since otherwise your browser will overwrite immunization from time to time from the settings it loaded when it was started.

I have tried everything recommended above: I have undone immunisation and re-immunised; I have activated Spyware Blaster immediately before immunising; and I have completely uninstalled all traces of Spybot, and installed it again from scratch. But I still have 27131 unimmunised items in Firefox: 191 cookies, 8980 images, 8980 installations and 8980 popups.

Is there anything else I can try?

I'm trying to get Spybot installed on a brand-new laptop, and have over 2000 unimmunized options. I've tried the adminstrator rights recommendations. A few times, actually.

I've tried the undo option. Ditto.

I've made sure the browser is closed.

And yes, I'm getting the same problem. Only with Vista, though. I had a similar problem with my XP computer, but the undo option worked just fine. Odd.

I have AVAST on the newest computer too, as well as AdAware and Spyware Blaster. I have installed no other programs yet, other than Firefox.

@spybotsandra - I have posted some test results here. And yes I am running all of this as an administrator with all browsers (and everything else) closed.
