View Full Version : Confused about virus

Alright so my computer has been a little weird lately so here's whats going on. Yesterday I ran Spybot and it said that I was infected with Virtumonde, Virtumonde.dll, and Virtumonde.prx and I got a couple pop ups from Norton Internet Security (NIS) saying that it detected or blocked Trojan.vundo. So because of this I went into safe mode and did the entire run Spybot until there are no more items showing up and then I restarted my computer and ran HJT and did a Kaspersky scan. Now the Kaspersky scan hadn't completed yet when I left my computer for a while but it did say that it detected a couple of viruses, when I came back to my computer it refused to clear the screen saver and I couldn't get the task manager to pop up so I did a hard shut down and rebooted my computer. So today I reran the scans etc, only now Kaspersky didn't detect anything but when I started the computer up to run those scans a NIS message popped up saying something about applying updates after the computer was restarted, I just clicked cancel on it so I could run the Kaspersky scan first. So I'm not sure if I'm still infected or what's going on, so here are the logs.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Alright not sure if this will help any but I had rebooted my computer and now getting annoying pop ups and error messages and after running Spybot again I once again got the same results as the first time with the various Virtumonde infections. Here's a run down on some of the error messages I've been getting: XPCOM: Event Receiver: FIREFOX.EXE Application Error - The instruction at "0x02b02150" referenced memory "0x02b02150." The memory could not be "read"; rundll32.exe - Bad Image - the application or DLL C:\WIndows\system32\vackhfqsd.dll is not a valid Windows image. please check this against your installation diskette.; RUNDLL - error loading C:\Windows\system32\vakhfqsd.dll %1 is not a valid Win32 application; RUNDLL - Error loading C:\Windows\system32\egotyajd.dll The specified module could not be found.; Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows - To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program. Name: Run a DLL as an App, Publisher: Microsoft Corporation.
Not sure if any of those error messages mean anything but figured I'd throw them up here just in case.

More issues with this virus, after running Spybot and trying to fix the Virtumonde problems an error message from Spybot now pops up saying Failed to load C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search_Destroy\DelZip179.dll, followed by an out of memory error message and it just repeats everytime I press ok

Hi

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

1. Download combofix from any of these links and save it to Desktop:
Link 1 (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 2 (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 3 (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe)

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you (C:\ComboFix.txt). Post that log & a fresh hjt log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

If you have problems with Combofix usage, see here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix)
