I have been been getting the blackworm pop up recently along with the winfixer pop up. My computer is running really slow. I can double click a program and it takes at least 90 seconds to load(thats if I am lucky) If you can help me figure out what is wrong I would greatly appreciate it. Please note that I will be away from a computer from 3/25 -3/27. I might check in, but not sure yet. Also, just want to let you know that when it comes to computers, I am not the smartest. So if I ask you a stupid question, remember that. Thank you in advanced for your help

Hello and welcome to the forum, If you still need help, this is the Vundo trojan, before I post the instructions I want to make you aware your Java program: C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\, if you are using it is outdated and a security issues. See this information: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=2559

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix

Please download VundoFix v4.2.35 to the Desktop:
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/24/2/
* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it
* Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task
* You will receive a message saying VundoFix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
* When VundoFix re-opens, click: Scan for Vundo
* Once it's done scanning, click: Remove Vundo
* A prompt asking if you want to remove the files appears, click: Yes
* Once you click yes, the Desktop goes blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, a prompt to shutdown the computer appears, click OK
* Turn the computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log I will see if there is more to do. Let us know how the computer is running now.

At this moment in time, my computer is running faster. I just haven't spent much time on it to tell if it is completely fixed. Let me know what you see.

Hi Julie, You are certainly welcome, and it appears you have removed the Vundo trojun:bigthumb: with a little help from Atribune.

Your HJT log appear to be clean of bad stuff now, the only thing I see is Microsoft AntiSpyware and Microsoft has released the next version, you can read about it here: http://russelltexas.com/malware/defender.htm

If you do not have a good cleaner, let me suggest this one with these instuctions:
Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Review the instructions http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp
Run CCleaner, Windows & Applications when you run the registry cleaner (Issues) you will be prompted to backup before you can remove stuff, make sure you do.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
