Hi, this is the first time I have posted here and I appreciate all that the Spy Bot team does.
First, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 5000 with the AMD Turion 64 Processor and has the 2002 Version Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 Operating System.
It became infected with the Anti-Virus 2008 Virus and I clicked on it to scan the system because I thought it was a demo from Avast since that is the anti-virus program I use. I did notice that there was a new icon on my Desktop, but thought that Avast had put it there. Win 32 files were infected as well as memory files for Avast so I uninstalled and reinstalled Avast and so far it is ok and no viruses. When I ran Spy Bot it found the Anti-Virus 2008, Zlob, Smitfraud and Virtumonde and Virtumonde.prx. It seemed to get rid of everything, but then I kept getting an error about a module missing for a Dll file on Start up. I didn't know what the file was and what was wrong, so my wife ran a System Restore, but it didn't work. When I came home from work, I searched and finally found the file in Virtumonde in Spy Bot and restored it. The error message on Start Up went away, but Virtumonde kept coming back and I knew that all of it needed to be gone after reading the info on it. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Spy Bot and also tried the procedure on Spy Bot screen that may possibly get rid of it, but it didn't work. I tried to delete certain Virtumonde files that didn't seem to do anything, but they kept coming back. Also, when I run Spy Bot, a Windows message pops up that says there was an error trying to run a Dll as a App, that it needs to close and to send this message to Microsoft, which I did. I did notice that the Dll Library and files don't seem to be coming up again when I ran the last scan. The PC is working better, but still isn't right. I have never had a problem with Virtumonde before and hope I never do again.

Here is the HJT file.

Thank you for your help and it is very much appreciated.
I know a little about PCs and their programs, but not as much as some. I would appreciate it if all answers and instructions are as simple as possible.

I don't usually use the Tea Timer because of always having to approve the Registry Changes. I did not always understand what the changes were and was afraid I would do the wrong thing. Will this help to prevent the Virtumonde and other problems?

Hi

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

1. Download combofix from any of these links and save it to Desktop:
Link 1 (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 2 (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 3 (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe)

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you (C:\ComboFix.txt). Post that log & a fresh hjt log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

If you have problems with Combofix usage, see here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix)
