security center disabled

Hi
i just upgraded spyboot (was having troubled with trojansc.sbi)
i started my computer in safe mode and started spybot and there was a warning saying that the firewall was desabled, i clicked and discoverded that windows security center was disconected ... is this normal?
i ran spyboot anyway and nothing was found ... reboot the machine (not in sfe mode anymore) and the security center looked perfect.
a few months ago i had a problem with "recycler" and think i removed it.
the truth is that my computer is slower and i'm tired of cleaning to get some speed ... or maybe i'm being paranoid :crazy:

That said, All advice given by anyone volunteering here, is taken at own risk.
While best efforts are made to assist in removing infections safely, unexpected stuff can happen.

You have a clean log, just some clutter to fix.

First , go to C:\Program Files and create a new folder and name it Hijackthis, then go to where you currently have it on the desktop and cut it and paste it into the new folder, HJT always needs to be in its own folder for backup purposes.




Disable the TeaTimer, leave it disabled until we're done,

Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
On the left hand side, Click on Tools
Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
Restart your computer.<--You need to do this for it to take effect




Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

What I am looking at are TWO ANTI VIRUS PROGRAMS RUNNING, :nono: not a good thing and not recommended as they will use a huge amount of system resources and at times conflict with each other causing you some issues, this may not be the source of your slow down but it is certainly adding to it. You have Symantec and Avast4, your call but you need to uninstall one of them via the Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel. When you install Anti Virus software it will by default disable the windows firewall because like Two AV, you should only have one Firewall.


Lets run this cleaner and see if it helps. DO NOT RUN THE ISSUES SCAN


Download and Install CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/)
If you don't want the Yahoo Toolbar, be sure to uncheck it during installation

Click on Run Cleaner
