View Full Version : fake XP SecurityCenter - keeps reinstalling

Hello, I hope you can help me :)

A zip file was opened which contained some sort of virus or adware (I think).

Now a fake XP SecurityCenter keeps appearing.

I have installed Spybot S&D and have just obtained a HijackThis log which is listed below....if you could offer advice I would be very grateful, thank you...

Just to let you know, after much :hair: and searching this forum, I think I've managed to solve this problem through a mixture of SDFix / ComboFix / SmitfraudFix

Hello Blue_E,

Do NOT run 'fixes' before helpers have analyzed the HJT log (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=16806 )


Running fixes when the infection has not been analysed, can make things more difficult for our helpers.
