Hi,

version 1.6.0 hangs when trying to scan for spyware.
Versions before 1.6.0 work without problems.

Configuration:

AMD Athlon XP 64 3800+
1,0 GB RAM
Windows XP SP2 (Home)
Avast! Antivirus

First:

1.) You could try scanning with spybot in safe mode,

along with other antispyware or an antiviruis program.

FIRST UPDATE ALL SECURITY SOFTWARE, ANTIVIRUIS ANTISPYWARE, ETC.

How to boot into safe mode:

Reboot your computer into SafeMode by doing the following:

* Restart your computer
* After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, begin tapping F8.
* Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
* Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
* Once windows loads, launch spybot and do a complete scan. remove anything found. Launch other security software and scan with them as well, remove anything found.
*restart your machine, you are now using windows in normal mode.*

Does that help?

2.) Are you able to then scan with spybot?

3.) You might have some threats that are preventing spybot from scanning.

4.) Also, where does it exactly hang? Right at the beginning? If you can tell me where it stops, that will help. (Like for example what threat it is scanning when it freezes.)

Starting in Safemode does not help.

It hang right at the beginning.
Then I am not able to close Spybot without use of the Taskmanager.

I should mention, that my HDs are encrypted with TrueCrypt 6.

A complete removal and reinstall?
