Just installed Spybot S&D 1.6.0.30 and ran a first scan on an old laptop machine of mine.
The scan found the usual cookies stuff, plus the remnants of eGroup dialler - 5 registry entries. I selected to remove all and got a message that one of the
entries was in memory and was it ok to remove it on restart. Closed Spybot and restarted the machine. On restarting, Spybot ran as expected and showed no threats present. Great.
My query is on the log file reporting. There are two identical Fixes reports, one minute apart, both showing the item as 'fixing failed', but there is no sign
of a Fixes report from the scan which followed the restart. Also, the Recovery backup list shows this item twice, also about a minute apart.
I'm happy that the item was handled correctly, but wondered if this is Spybot's quirky way of reporting items which require a restart, or is it a bug?
Any thoughts welcome.
