Last night I ran Spybot S&D in safe mode and HJT along with AVG, RegscrubXP, Ad-Aware 2007, SUPERAntiSpyware, and Webroot Spysweeper. I found a couple of things, but there weren't any specific names that came up that I could google. Even though I've tried to clean everything I could, my computer is still bugged.

Symptoms:
Desktop has turned white
Many C: drive components are missing from my desktop
There are no links to My Computer, My Documents, etc on my Start menu
"VIRUS ALERT!" appears next to my Windows clock
"Unable to complete genuine Windows validation" icon appears
Can't right click on white desktop

I've taken a screen shot (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/surlyedi/Untitled-1.jpg) where you'll see the C: drive is missing from My Computer and My Computer is missing from the Start menu. I have to navigate using folders on my desktop to get there. I also have Panda Activescan running right now.

I was able to get my desktop background back and the right click works now. I discovered that there was a small dropdown menu up on top when I scrolled over it. I closed whatever it was without looking at what it could possibly be x_x oops. Maybe it'll pop up again on my next startup.

Sorry for posting so much within a few minutes, but I can't seem to find the "Edit" button >_>

Oh goodness, I'm a mess this morning. I got my "My Computer" and etc back on my Start menu after running through the properties. The only problems I have left are my missing C: drive on "My Computer", the "Virus Alert" thing next to my clock and the Genuine Windows issue.

And terribly sorry for constantly bumping my own thread!

Hello,

Sorry for posting so much within a few minutes, but I can't seem to find the "Edit" button >_>
"BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Can I edit my own posts?

In the Spybot-S&D forum, there is a 15 minute time frame to edit one's post.
In the Malware Removal Forum, members may not edit their posts. A helper may already be analysing the information given.

And terribly sorry for constantly bumping my own thread!

Posting additional comments or logs before a volunteer responds, can push you back instead of forward, because your thread ends up with a newer date. Also, helpers may think you are already being assisted because of the post count. The same applies to bumping, please don't.
