Hi again,

My mate Drew has an infected laptop. He is all for reformatting and re-installing but I assured him you guys could help.

I am not seeing malware (can be hidden) in the HJT log but we have these issues you need to resolve before we can proceed.

3) C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\ <<< Java is badly out of date, see this:

4) AVG 7 is out of date, here is a link to AVG 8 free:

5) E:\HiJackThis.exe <<< this location is not safe, follow the directions to post a HJT log from a safe location.

6) Provide more information than: "My mate Drew has an infected laptop"
tell up about symptoms, why you think the computer is infected.

7) If you still want help, complete the above instructions and provide a new HJT log.

Download Trend Micro Hijack This™ to your Desktop

Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.
