Hi,

My computer is acting very strangely. My desktop icons disappeared, I tried to open spybot but 9 windows opened instead. I clicked on HJT and a total of 89 windows opened. Windows Security then informed me that my anti-virus and anti-malware were turned off. The same with McAfee's OAS. I tried running HJT and got a log but I don't know if it will tell you anything because I kept getting errors all over the place. I also got errors for spybot.

I had been using Mozilla to visit hotornot and I also had my yahoo mail open to compose. When I attempted to compose a message using the copy/paste function that's when the problem started. The first time I tried to run spybot the computer didn't cooperate so I turned it off. I turned it on again but as I mentioned in the above paragraph things were not working right. Even now there are 8 spybot windows open, 13 Microsoft Error Reporting windows and a IE window that was open to Safer Networking. Right now I'm using Mozilla so I don't understand why IE has opened anyway.

Also, I had clicked on start to access my computer and control panel shortly after the problems started and the computer didn't cooperate. The Windows MSN was jumping, the cursor jumped and when I would use the drag down menus on Windows Security the activate the anti-virus and anti-spyware, it kept jumping, too. Something's wrong, it's not a problem with my PC either.

Last Friday I read an online article about a conference in Las Vegas where a lot of internet security experts met to discuss the ever increasing problem of internet crime and that computers are coming under increasingly vicious attacks. :( I'm doing what I can to protect my computer but I'm no expert. I rely on the software I installed including spybot. I don't even know if I'm really talking on the real spybot forum now since as that article pointed out, internet criminals are doing a horribly efficient job of putting up fake sites. :( But I hope that I am really on the spybot forums. This is the only computer I have and I don't know what will happen when I turn it off tonight. Please PLEASE don't tell me that it's just a computer glitch because I know something is wrong. I don't know if HJT got to run a full scan because among those 88 or so windows I was also told that there were memory problems (for High Jack This) and things needing to be shut down. But here is the log that I was able to get.

And a couple of other things I forgot to mention.

1. When I attempted to click on updates for spybot, I couldn't get it to work. I moved the cursor over it but I was unable to "click" on it.

2. When I DID get spybot to work I ran a scan and it found nothing wrong. But when I clicked to come to spybot's homepage, it did so through IE. When I then clicked on forums, the cursor jumped. In the lower left hand corner was the message opening spybot forums and in the lower right hand corner were the green bars but it did not load. So I tried again only that time with Mozilla. That is how I posted the above log and this message, too.

3. When I had to turn my computer back on to run spybot, another spybot search and destroy icon appeared on my computer. I don't understand why that would happen. I didn't click on it but rather used the original spybot search & destroy icon that was already on my desktop.
