Hi

Your running Hijackthis from a temp, Not a good idea.
Create a new folder, for instance C:\AntiSpyware
Download the exe from here to that new folder.
http://www.merijn.org/files/HijackThis.exe
This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong
Make and post a new log

THanks for replying. I don't know how to not run from a temp folder. I really don't know what a temp folder is. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but i'll try making a new folder. Also, how do i places HJT into that folder? Thanks

Please download and unzip Ren-cmdservice to your desktop.
It will only work correctly if the folder is placed on your desktop and extracted.
http://downloads.subratam.org/Lon/ren-cmdservice.zip
Open the ren-cmdservice folder by doubleclicking it and then doubleclick the
ren-cmdservice.bat file to run the program.

A text will open when it is finished, Post it please.
Then restart the PC run SpyBot check for and fix any problems found.

Set windows to show hidden file's, folders and extension's.
Click Start.
Open any folder.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Uncheck hide extension's for known file types
Click Apply to confirm.
Click OK.

Go to this website http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html
Near the top press browser, selct this file and click send
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\EQMini.dll
Let us know whats found ? If nothing check the files properties.

Hey I didn't know you guys had rules for posting at other sites. Sorry. But even though that previous log was clean, the pop ups persist. Spybot found nothing, so CMD service is gone, and ad aware as always finds nothing. I couldn't find that totalvirus.com thing you were talking about, but everything else went smoothly. i want to get rid of all these popups!!!!

LonnyRJones
2006-03-30, 03:03
Popups are a normal thing on the web, usualy.

Where do you get them and what are you doing at the time ? do they occur
even if a browser is not running ?

Put in place a good hosts file

How To Download and Extract the HOSTS file:

Replace it about once monthly to keep it updated

Post a report from this free online scan

I'm sure this many isnt normal. Yes, some of them pop up even when explorer isn't running, But most of the time they pop up or attempt to pop up while I'm surfing the web. Probably about 2 per page visited. I am using a free 15 day trial of Zonealarm pro and It's helped me block some of the ads and cookies and some things called private headers, but it blinks "Popup Blocked" rapidly when i visit new pages, so i can tell there still trying to come. Panda Scan still going on, I'll post the results.

I deleted those two files without problems. The temp333 was trying to make a spyware called CMMan which I have encountered before, I didn't know that it was bad! I'm glad it's gone.

Looks good

Zonealarm does have a free help forum, perhaps asking ZA specific questions there is a good idea

What? Why are you bringing up Zonealarm? Dude my questions are how to get rid of these popups that ZA is blocking, not about zone alrm itself. I also want to know why the heck there are so many popups or so much spyware even though I have Windows Defender, AVG, Adaware, Spybot, Hijackthis, and Zone alarm. I even used to have that ewido also. why aren't ANY of these things killing the stuff??? If I turn off my Popup protection from Zonealarm, my computer is torn to pieces with cookies, Ads and things called Private headers. What am i going to do when my free trial is up with Zonealarm? It's a wreck! I'll give you some logs to look at once I get home from school. I'm really sorry if I seem harsh, because I don't have the right to get mad at you. You've done nothing but help. Thanks man
