View Full Version : Vurtumonde and Antivirus 2009
It looks like I am not alone in this situation. It is my son's computer and I have been running scans all day. Trend Micro and SpyBot both found several infections. He cannot type a web address in the browser, it freezes. The computer says that his updates are off and of course it will not allow me to turn them back on. When I try to block the pop ups by setting the security settings, the settings change as soon as I close the tool menu. I know I will probably need to download HiJack This, but will wait for further instructions. Also, how can I get the popups from the registry settings to stop coming up everytime I reboot my computer after the installation of SpyBot? Thanks for your help!

Please follow the instructions in the sticky topic that I posted here: http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=224223#post224223 to produce a HiJackThis log.
Just the one log, skip the Spybot-S&D scan.

If you are able to get the log, start a new topic and copy/paste the HJT log into it.
Then I will close this one as helpers look for threads without a response.
