I happened to update my program yesterday and came across SpyLocked. I am however expirencing no symptoms from this program at all and can find no reference to it on the computer. I have looked in add / remove programs and it is not there either. I also have looked at all running processes on the machine and theyre is no indication of any fraudulent proccesses running. It says it is in a quarantine folder but I scan in there with S&D and it comes up clear. I also run Windows Defender and Mc Afee Anti Virus which I updated and they are both coming up clear. Is there possibly a glitch? When I try to remove it in S&D it gives me a error message saying it cant remove it, Claiming a process could be running in the memory. I ran the computer in safe mode and it removed it last night and it returned this morning in my Spybot search results. I had also looked on another computer and it had the same file but not infected to my knowlege.
Any Ideas?

Download Trend Micro Hijack This™ to your Desktop

Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

Thanks for returning your HJT log, I must say I am seeing nothing that looks like malware. You said this:

What program did you update that reported "SpyLocked"? You say "quarantine folder" what program has it quarantined and what is the location of that quarantine folder (pathway to it)?
I don't think you have any problem, but if you try to provide a little more information, it will help. We will also ask MBAM to take a look (excellant at removing rouge junk like SpyLocked), let's proceed like this:
1) C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JRE16~3.0_0\ <<< looks like your Java program need an update, see this:

3) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

I have some things I think you would find helpful in helping me out. I happened to notice .bup files being put in a quarantine file by Mc Afee Anti Virus. The location of this is C:\ Program Files \ Quarantine. These file are only created when going to Msn.com. Then Spybot finds I have spylocked in a regular scan, Then if I go and scan the folder Spybot says spylocked is in in the regular scan. it claims that it is clean with no MALWARE. But in REGULAR scan results it says I am infected with Malware while I am not when it scans the folder it is referencing to. When going to the folder and scanning I am right clicking and selecting scan with Spybot Search and Destroy. I have assured all security softwares are updated. This could be a Spybot glitch?
I will try the other tool when I get a chance.

Let's see what kind of report we get from Kaspersky Online Scan (KOS)
Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Then post it here.
I ran a full computer scan on Kapersky and nothing was infected. I also reran a Malware scan with Malware Bytes just to make sure it missed nothing. I then searched My Computer for any files named spylocked. I did not find any in the registry either. What can I do next? Is this a confirmed false positive?

Greg, I have a bit of knowledge about malware, but I probably know about what you do about Spybot and time to learn is limited by the shortness of life in general and the amount of malware we are having to content with. I suggest you post in the Spybot forum and ask those experts. Make sure you link them to this topic so they can see what we have done and please post a link to your topic there so I may learn along with you.
