I ran a scan twice with spybot and still came up with a file called

"Wintouch: [SBI $4E3A54F0] Configuration file
C:\Program Files\.autoreg"

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Antivirus XP 2008 or not but that one also came up on my computer numerous times. Below is the highjack log after doing the two scans.
help me please?

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

It is important that you read and follow the directions, they are pinned (sticky) to the top of this forum and posted above. Anything less will slow us and waste both of our time.

1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

2) J:\FILES TO FIX COMPUTER\HiJackThis.exe <<< improperly located

Download Trend Micro Hijack This™ to your Desktop
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/hijackthis/HJTInstall.exe
Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

Thanks...Phil

*you would be wise to keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk can often download more.

Sorry about not following the directions. There were so many I forgot to disable Tea Timer. Here is the log I just did today after downloading the HJT file.

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback, you have a rouge program on the computer:
Antivirus 2008 XP <<< http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Antivirus+2008+XP&btnG=Google+Search
usually a lot of hidden junk.

We will start with combofix:

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Remove any old copies of combofix before you proceed.

Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log and a new HJT log.

When I tried to run the combofix.exe it reboots my system before it finishes. I disabled my firewall, anti virus, malware, adware and everything else i could think of that would keep this from happening and ran it again but it did the same thing again. I went ahead and ran another HJT log for you just in case you needed it. See below:

Delete combofix from the computer, we may try later if necessary but we will want a new download.

1) Turn of WinPatrol so it can not block us:
Right-click the running icon of Winpatrol in the system tray and choose exit. It will automatically restart at next boot.

2) Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to the Desktop
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat
to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer to restore them upon reactivation).

3) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

4) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

5) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and uninstall Antivirus 2008 XP if it is there.

6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Here are the logs you requested. Its seems to be running way better. I just wanna make sure its in good shape. Once its fixed I'm copying my whole computer files to my 500 gig external hard drive so I won't be in danger of losing all those files on there again.

Morning Julie, thanks for returning your information and the feedback.

Once its fixed I'm copying my whole computer files to my 500 gig external hard drive so I won't be in danger of losing all those files on there again
It is always a good idea to maintain backups, some infections require reformat and without the backups you loose many files you may have wanted.

MBAM removed a lot of junk, I would like to do one more good scan (will take a while) before I turn you loose. If that works for you, proceed like this.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

Thanks...Phil

Make sure you take the time to read this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282

P2P programs
We have noticed that many people seeking help from us are coming with infections contracted from the use of P2P programs.
Because of this, we changed our malware forum's policy on the use of P2P file sharing programs.
If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. Help will be withdrawn should you not agree to their removal.
If we clean your computer of infection, and you return to us a short time later with an infection contracted by the use of P2P programs, volunteer analysts will refuse their help.

So what now??
Delete the junk, that's what, let me show you something:
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20080316-kazaa-downloads-cost-one-man-750-per-song-in-riaa-suit.html
The court system is slow but I would not be surprised to see anyone who downloaded illegal music to find themselves there sooner or later.

Navigate to the E:\ drive right click and delete each of those items. I would run KOS again to be sure they are gone.

I read about that and agree. That was something my daughter downloaded on my computer that I wasn't real happy about so I deleted it. I will delete them all and give you a report. Sorry about that.:oops:

Sorry it has taken me awhile to respond to you. I've been working lots of overtime this week so far. Besides that the last scan took forever to complete. It's still popping up saying I have some type of trojan but it didn't come up on the kaspersky scan like it did the last time. i've deleted all the files and emptied my recycle bin also so those files are gone. Anyway, here's the last report.

My computer is telling me that there is a trojan. My antivirus software is recognizing it and blocking it. I'm just worried that it might affect my computer. It comes up as TR/Dldr.FraudLoad.cgvtrogan and it says it's located in C:\Documents and Settings\setup_110152_3_.exe When I go to that area I cannot locate it. My files aren't hidden or anything but it's like it isn't there. Is this another file I should be concerned with?

Hi Julie, this is a bit of a puzzle, KOS which is one of the better scanners even though it is not freeware and only reports stuff to us, is scanning clean as you saw.

Alvira is the program that is finding this "trojan", could you post the exact information from the Alvira scan. I will mention Google shows you having this issue and no one else at this point:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=TR%2FDldr.FraudLoad.cgvtrogan+&btnG=Search

Earlier we looked for this item:

C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS~1\POWERU~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\setup1038.exe <<< delete the contents of the Temp folder, but sure to delete that file in RED
I do not know what the full name of the folder in C:\Documents and Setting is that starts with POWERU <<< but were you able to open that folder and locate the Local Settings folder, then the Temp folder to delete that :setup1038.exe ??

In fact you should have deleted everything in the Temp folder (a few old files may not have deleted) but that file should have gone.

Since Alvira is reporting it here: C:\Documents and Settings\setup_110152_3_.exe <<< that file may also be in that Temp folder. Navigate to it and click Edit then Select All then Delete > then yes or OK.
Temp files are just that...Temporary.

You can also use Search Companion but remember, that is a lot of files to search through and it can take as long as any other scan.
Start > Search > All files and folder > enter setup_110152_3_.exe (copy/paste is fine) and then be patient. If located, navigate to any instance and delete it.

Keep me posted, I do not want to close your topic while you have an issue.

Thanks...Phil
