Spybot 1.5 help

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I have a two part question.

1. Spybot is scanning my complete registry rather than doing a quick scan. It takes about 25 minutes to complete. When I used to have Spybot, it would complete in 15-20 seconds. How can I get it to do the quick scan.

2. Once scan is completed, I have Wild Tangent PUP's that will not remove until a restart. Once I restart, it says the same thing, that they are in use or in memory. I am having problems with my computer running very slowly due to opening a Hallmark greeting card email. :sad: Could the Wild Tangent be the issue? How could I get it to remove that?



Any help would be appreciated.
 
spybot 1.6 scans faster than 1.5 you could try 1.6 instead.
i havent found a "quick scan" in spybot 1.6 but it has "rightclick scan" wich you can use to scan one file or more.
 
There is no "quick scan" option offered by Spybot-Search&Destroy. However, I have to disagree with you when you say Spybot scans the "whole/complete" registry. As a general idea, Spybot-SD does not really scan the "whole" system or files one by one, as that is too time consuming. Spybot's way of scanning for malicious entries is to scan common places where malware "anchor" themselves to.
