I posted a simple question on Yahoo with regards to a multi-region code for a DVD recorder and some little so and so replied by giving me a link to download a virus! When extracted there were two files, one called oxo.exe and the other was called viruss or something like that.

I'd checked the file with AVG before running and it didn't pick up any virus.

However, upon running it started trying to change my registry (luckily I have spybot installed and I told it 'No' for each question) It then accessed the internet!

I now have boxes appearing on the right hand side of my PC stating "Registry change denied" as if something is continually trying to mess around with my registry.

I found "esxngabr.dll" in my WINNT folder. Avast! also found a trojan that was loaded when I ran the oxo.exe file.

Have run hijack this:

hi TheGMan,

you have two antivirus. AVG and Avast. only one AV is needed on a computer. i would remove one via the add/remove programs panel.
download and run malwarebytes and post the log from it. last:
please post a new hjt log

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop:

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
