AVG detects Fujacks P worm ... but it won't go away

Hi

2 days ago AVG reported that I had Fujacks variant and I duly quarantined it.

I ran SpyBot (1.5) and it informed me as clean.

Yesterday it reported tonnes of Fujacks (P variant) :fear:

I switched off my laptop but today I have installed SpyBot 1.6 and ran a scan in Safe Mode - again ... nothing to report. But AVG still reports infected files - all so far on my Shared Drive. I installed HJT and have run that in Normal mode. I'm in Latvia using my girfriend's PC to post here and try and fix my poor ol' laptop :sick:

Hi Alan, sorry for the wait, don't know if I can help but I will give it a try.

The only thing I see in the HJT log is a slightly out of date Java program and some debris we could remove.

Since Spybot is now up to date and it appears AVG 8 is finding the stuff, I need to know where AVG says the junk is located. When the scan is finished, you can save the report, post that report.

Thanks for your response.

I had run the full scan and AVG cleared away all found infections. Incidently while it was running I was also being prompted by the resident shield (I subsequently assumed) to remove infections simultanously. All infected files were found on my shared documents folder - not one in the windows or program files folder at all :yes: There were also warnings about tracking cookies which I instructed AVG to heal.

However, I had run that prior to seeing this response of yours. So I ran it again after receiving your recommendation and it came out as fully clean - not even a warning!:)

I have also run two full Kapersky deep Online Scans which also came out clean and I installed and ran Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2008 after doing the full scans and this came out clean too!

So I am baffled by it all, but I guess this can be marked as closed as right now I don't think it's worth using your time on this one. But I would like to say thanks again for responding. It's great the amount of time and energy all of you put into helping us ... :bigthumb:
