Trojans?

Hi,I've been virus free for over a year thanks to spybot now.
Recently family members complain that this computer has been slower,but I've not noticed this.So anyway I decided to do kasperskys free virus scanner and found apparently 4 trojans.Then I used spybot and for some reason spybot didn't detect any trojans at all,only detecting a hijacker.So my main problem is,are those 4 trojans still on my computer?Thanks in advance

cigno, even a great program like Kaspersky Online Scan (KOS) can have a false positive now and then, it is always best to check.

To be sure, make sure you can view the files:

Then use one or more of these scanners to see what they are:

http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/

I can not check them from here, but I googled this one:

and I believe they are all valid, but it is best to be sure.

Looking at the HJT log, let check to make sure you are clean.

For your information, Viewpoint is installed by aol probably without your knowledge. I suggest you uninstall this resource waster in Add Remove programs.

3) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.

4) Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to the Desktop

Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat
to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer to restore them upon reactivation).

5) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

8) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

Deleted the msn messenger files
The other 3 files were said to be trojans 85% of the time.

Thanks for returning your information, and the feedback. I would hate to tell you to delete those files and then have your printer stop working. A couple of suggestions about them.

1) Navigate to the files and right click them then click properties. Look them over for any reason to be suspicious, they should indicate the files belong to "Brother"

2) Contact Brother and ask them about the files.

Check your Java program for update.

4) I do not see a antivirus program running? It is good to do online scans once in a while, but that cannot replace the protection of a antivirus program running in realtime. Here are three to choose from if you need them and do not install more than one.

Once you get one installed, update and run a system scan to see if it flags those Brother files. I have a gut feeling there is nothing wrong with them, but will never be able to be 100% sure from here.

So I just downloaded avast and start getting messages about sending a report to windows:
Blue screen error caused by a device or driver

You received this message because a hardware device, its driver, or related software has caused a blue screen error. This type of error means the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from potential data corruption or loss. In this case, we were unable to detect the specific device or driver that caused the problem

I don't know if this means anything.
Anyway I remembered that my other computer has brother!
So maybe if that computer also has these files,there is no harm in them.
There was no file:
C:\Program Files\Brother\Brmfcmon\BrMfcWnd.exe
C:\Program Files\Brother\ControlCenter2\brctrcen.exe

This file however is quite interesting:
C:\Program Files\Brother\Brmfl04g\BrStDvPt.exe
I also have this file on my other computer,BUT when i looked at the file it was associated with Brother and when I looked at this file on this computer there was no company name associated with it like other files have.

NOTE: When I was checking if they had the company label avast when crazy and said all 3 were trojans:fear:

I am not sure what more I can tell you. I have given you tools to find out if they are trojans or not, you will have to make some of the decisions.

If Avast is giving you problems, uninstall it and try one of the others I provided.

So I decided to delete those files and then tested my printer to see if it still works.I've tried 3 times to print things and it worked!I only printed 1 word so I don't know...
