SpyBot is still causing tons of Vista problems. The installer does not properly add it to the Security Control Panel. Immunization causes an edit to the HOSTS file, which is not recommended in Vista because the HOSTS file is used for more than just web browsing. SpyBot attempts to write protect all files in the System32 folder which is a big no-no since Vista can then not properly open it's own Control Panel, use 3D-Flip, and shuts down Software Licensing Service.

Disappointing for what was once a pretty faithful program.

Are you getting an error similar to this?

Unable to execute file :

C:\Program File\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDWinSec.exe

CreateProcess failes; code 740
The requested operation requires elevation
If so, rather than just double click on the installation program (spybotsd160.exe) to start it:
Right-click on spybotsd160.exe.
Choose "Run as administrator" from the context menu.

The immunization of the HOSTS file is optional. On the immunization screen scroll down to the bottom of the right hand pane and under Windows uncheck "Global (Hosts)".

You will have to provide more details since you seem to be the only person reporting such a problem.
