Do tell us about the missing dll error messages you are getting at bootup. The exact dll names please.

If you cannot do the above -- please explain details what happens when you try.

Hi,

Thanks for those logs. They do indeed help.
Those missing dll error messages are because there are registry traces of vundo left and windows is complaining because it can't find the files your security programs removed.

Good deal. We'll fix that.

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer
Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu
select Advanced Mode
On the left hand side, click on Tools
Then click on the Resident icon in the list
Uncheck Resident TeaTimer and OK any prompts.
Restart your computer

Now Right click Hijackthis
click "run as administrator"
Run system scan only & check the following items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: Babylon - {965B54B0-71E0-4611-8DE7-F73FA0B20E26} - (no file)

Say OK & exit Hijackthis when done.

Reboot

Post new Hijackthis log (run as administrator) and a log from the following:

If you already have used Kaspersky online scanner, please uninstall it via add/remove programs because this is a new version I need you to download.

Please do a scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner (http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html)

Note: If you are using Windows Vista, open your browser by right-clicking on its icon and select 'Run as administrator' to perform this scan.

Click on the Accept button and install any components it needs.
The program will install and then begin downloading the latest definition files.
After the files have been downloaded on the left side of the page in the [b]Scan section select My Computer
This will start the program and scan your system.
The scan will take a while, so be patient and let it run.
Once the scan is complete, click on View scan report
Now, click on the Save Report as button.
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.

only scanning takes about 5 hours and is at like 60%
firefox will always close so...

Hi,

Good to hear everything is OK.

Did you run any other tools besides your antivirus & Spybot?

For Spybot -- before we re-enable TeaTimer..
The file we normally use To reset TeaTimer seems not to work for Vista.
We have to reset it or it will put back those registry items causing the dll errors.

Let's do this:

open Spybot & undo immunization.
Exit Spybot then uninstall it allowing it to remove user settings, quarantined items etc.
Once Uninstalled --- reboot.
Now you can re-install Spybot & set up Immunization again and TeaTimer if you wish.
Don't forget to update it. :)

Can you post a fresh hijackthis log too please.

Towards the end of a cleanup please make sure you follow through with any final log requested even if it appears to you that your computer is back to normal operation.
As much as we like our members ;) we would rather not see you back in a few weeks because there was no follow up with the helper. :eek:
