View Full Version : How to cancel Spybot entries in Recycle's contextual menu?

Hi, I've just upgraded my spybot to version 1.6 and a new voice to check files with Spybot is appeared in contextual menu in Windows XP.
I would like to remove this voice, if it is possible only from the contextual menu of the Recycle.
Thanks and sorry for my English.

Is it becoming a bother?

Unfortunately, there is no "tweak" or fix to remove it. The right-click scan option by Spybot was offered during installation (was not checked by default) only.

IMHO, I would suggest you continue using Spybot, instead of going through the trouble of uninstalling and reinstalling just to remove the option.

However, the choice is yours to make.

kuabba82:

It is not necessary to uninstall and reinstall Spybot to remove the right click "Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy" context menu item as drragostea (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=229012#post229012) indicated.

The context menu feature is an option during installation which is checked by default. Once installed there is no option within Spybot to uninstall it. However there is a method to disable the "Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy" feature in Spybot 1.6 without uninstalling and reinstalling, see this post (http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=210998&postcount=9) by Zer0 Voltage (http://forums.spybot.info/member.php?u=40178) in:

If you do decide to uninstall and reinstall. the option that you should uncheck is on the "Select Components" installation screen and is listed as:
Explorer file scan plugin (in file context menu)

Thanks for the reply, but I would like to remove that voice only from recycle's context menu. Is it possible?
