I upgraded my Spybot last week (25.8), tried SDHelper, could not download any files ending with .exe from any source, on any browser. All I get is a security warning (security settings do not allow downloading of this file). Other files download without problems (zip,lzh...). I turned SDHelper off, did not help. I uninstalled Spybot, did not help. This problem did not occur on previous versions
of Spybot (without SDHelper ). I do not want to blame SDHelper, but I have no other security applications running (actually, I now have no security applications running, as I cannot download Spybot)and this problem did not occur on previous versions of Spybot (without SDHelper ). I would be very grateful for any insight on this problem, as it is making my computing rather difficult. All important software (like Spybot) seems to be in .exe files. In short, what can cause my computer to prevent downloading of .exe files and what can I do about it?
