Just wanted to know if removing 1.1 hotfix from my computer would cause any problems?

If you are referring to Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 hotfix, then you are removing the hotfix (more like a patch) to the .NET Framework itself. In other words, it can be exploited.

sorry, not that computer literate. my boyfriend has a virus on his computer...it stole his logins and removed his myspace, yahoo, etc. he hasn't logged in on anything yet but he does use his computer to search stuff and we created all new logins on my computer and you know when you turn on your computer and if you have your i.m preferences set to start on boot up...well i removed all those things so they wouldn't and he cant log in to them while he still has this virus. i was just wondering if i remove that hotfix program (yes it is the one you mentioned) what do you mean by exploited. sorry to be a pest i just don't want to remove it if i don't know the effects of removing it.

thanks so much for your help!

Hello piercedbabe808,

Please don't remove anything. Instead, follow the procedure in this link: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Then start your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) where a helper will advise you as soon as available.

Regards.
