What Windows OS are you running?

What version of Spybot - Search & Destroy are you running (Spybot » Help » About)?

If you are getting a message while starting Spybot indicating "This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found .....", the problem is usually caused by a bad path to the Framedyn.dll file rather than a missing Framedyn.dll file. Please read the following Microsoft Knowledge base article and see the section under "Verify System Variables":
"Application Has Failed to Start Because Framedyn.dll Was Not Found" Error Message When You Open the System Properties Dialog Box

I have a dell desk top with windows xp on it. I dont actually have spybot on my computer yet because I cant get online on that computer to run/check/diagnose/download ANYTHING! (yes I am very frustrated!!) Thanks!!

My internet has not worked for several days, it is wireless dsl but I get 'invalid ip address" or acquiring network address error when I try to connect. tech support was NO help

I have tried the microsoft help and cant finish the process because there is no file labeled framedyn.dll to rt click on. The difference with my problem and"Bitman's post" is I am not able to connect to the internet at all

Using Winfows Explorer, navigate to the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem
Is there a file named framedyn.dll in that folder?

I have already done the 2 suggestions on the microsoft support page, they didnt help and I am unable to donwload as I cannot connect to the internet because i heve no ip address. it is listed as 0.0.0.0. I have tried having the computer "renew" the address but it wont. Have also tried having the computer diagnose the connection problem and it cant.

my connection is dsl, 2wire wireless. the desktop I am trying to connect with has a netopia adaptor and it says "limited or no connectivity" or "acquiring network address" but nothing happens and I have been unable to connect for several days now.

You may have a copy of the framedyn.dll file (not a folder) on your system. If you have a C:\I386\ folder the original version that came installed on the system could be in there. In addition that file appears to have been updated with the XP Service Packs (at least SP2 and SP3), so you may have newer versions also.

Using Windows Explorer search for framedyn.dll and see what is available.

And I trust (hope) that you copied the latest version that corresponds to your update level into the proper windows folder.
