My system has crashed several times over the last 48 hours. i made a mistake by not renewing my anti-virus software and removed it 2 weeks ago! i must have downloaded something that contained a virus. i have tried several online scans, McAffee, Kapersky, windows live one and none of them are completing. one i start one of these programs online, the computer freezes. i have no idea where to start.

i did get "windows malicous viral removal tool" (or whatever its called) to detect a virus during the scanning process, however, the system crashed before it completed.

You have posted in the past so your should know not to start any new topics with the same issue, reply to this thread only.

You should also know that we can't do anything until we see a Hijackthis log.

Download Trendmicros Hijackthis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe) to your desktop.

Double click it to install
Follow the prompts and by default it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis\Highjackthis.exe
Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.

DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
