Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Make sure you read and follow the directions, anything else will slow the process and waste both of our time. I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
The junk can be tough to remove, so do not expect fast or easy.

You must read the directions and stop starting new posts.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Tutorial
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Remove any old copies of combofix before you proceed.

Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log and a new HJT log.

Thanks

PC Status:
1. No "Automatic Updates" Balloon Window.
2. 5 minutes of iexplorer use results in no extra windows being displayed.
3. PC Performance is good.
4. At end of combofix temporarily, the PC task bar had the "Windows updates to Install" icon but now it is gone. I did not install the updates.
5. Thank you very much. I may not be out of danger yet but we are definitely making progress.

Here are the logs and I will wait for further instructions.

* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post the log from CFScript, the log from MBAM and a new HJT log.

1. I did steps 1 and 2 of your instructions w/o any errors or problems.

2. I started step 3. After combofix.exe ran (with CFScript dragged on combofix.exe icon) for about 15 seconds it told me their was a newer version of combofix.exe and did I want to download it. I said yes. It downloaded the update and told me to restart combofix.exe. I restarted it again per step 3 instructions and system begame busy for awhile and then no runtime messages. So i restarted it again and no joy.

3. The third time I started task manager and observed that combofix.exe runs for about 15 seconds and terminates w/o any error messages. I ran task manager and I could see it start up and then it was gone from the process list after about 15 seconds. The system is as at idle.

4. When I started combofix.exe the first time, after about 5 seconds, McAfee said that a process called "Proscan....." was potentially a trojan and what to do about it. I thought it was a task of combofix.exe executing, so I said to trust it.

5. I do not know if the combofix.exe update is normal with CFScript or not?
Is "Proscan..." part of combofix.exe?

6. Please advise.

Thanks

More Infor...

1. The name of the what is called a trojan is "RemAdm-ProcLaunch!171" which McAfee calls a "(Potentially Unwanted Program)". It said it was part of the "Combofix.exe" process, so I said to trust it.

It said it is "File:C:\327882R2FWJFW\psexec.cfexe".

I will wait for instructions.

Thanks

Sorry it has taken so long. I had to uninstall McAfee Security Clenter to disable McAfee. This was after disableing it thru its menu, stopping the McAfee services, & talking to McAfee Tech Support.

Status:

1. Step 1 and 2, No Problems

2. Step 3 Problems (After Uninstalling McAfee)
a.) No combofix log after dropping CFScript on its icon. It just executes for 10 seconds and terminates with no messages or log.

3. Step 4
a.) After executing Hijackthis system scan only, I could not check the boxes for "02...." & "020...." because those lines were not in the output.
b.) Since I was not able to check anything to fix, I did not run "Fix Checked" of HJT.

4. Steps 5 & 6, No Problems

Computer Status:
1. Computer is running good now.
2. No "Automatic Update is Disabled" warning balloon.
3. No bogus iexplorer windows.
4. Performance seems good.
5. Actually, the computer ran just as good after I uninstalled McAfee and before I did steps 4 thru 6. Actually, If I am clean now,can I just run SpyBot w/o McAfee or Norton? Another words does SpyBot protect realtime? Thanks for all your help. I will wait for your response.

It is rare I have this many problems this soon in a repair. I am considering now if I even want to continue.

Delete combofix from your computer, then follow these directions:

It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log and a new HJT log.

See if you can complete those instructions.

We will try CFScript again, but first go back to the code box and look at all of the items that start like this:
C:\Program Files\Ylr1.exe <<< there are around 25 of these with random exe's, do you know what they are. I think they are malware but I have not seen these before created in
C:\Program Files\ If you don't know what they are, then make sure you can view all files and folders:
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html
use one or more of these free online scans:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/
and scan two or three of those to establish what they are, post the information from at least one scan so I can see it. Once we establish they are bad (the balance of the stuff if the CFScript is) we will try the script again. If it does not work this time, you will be deleting the bad files manually in safe mode.

Thanks

All three Scans say that these 25 some files are the same content (Duplicates). I did about 5 other files with all three scan reporting that they are the same file as "Ylr1.exe".

I know last week that I deleted process that were like "Yur190", "Yur191", etc. that I considered virus processes with the PC performance improving and bogus iexplorer windows being terminated.

Thanks for not giving up yesterday. :)

Here is the "virustotal" scan results:

Since you don't know what they are and I have never seen them, my guess would be they are something new malware is doing. That would account for the fact only a few antivirus databases have any information about them. I suggest you have a try at running CFScript again.

Make sure you read the directions a few times and perhaps print them. Make sure you get everything in the CFScript, some items need to be scrolled down to them so they will get included.

After you run the Script, run MBAM again, then post:

CFScript log

MBAM log

HJT log

Report on performance.

Thanks

CFScript did not work as input to Combofix. I reread instructions and tried copy/paste of code box 3 times and no joy. I canot dertermine what is wrong.

So, as you suggested I manually deleted those 25 files and continued on with running COMBOFIX, MBAM and then HJT.

As far as system performance, it is great. My wife was on system last night and said that performance has not been this good for many months. I agree!!!

:)

Here are the logs:

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. sUBs does say that combofix will not run on all computers. Because it is so powerful he has built a lot of safey checks into the tool.
You may have another issues, out of date driver, etc. Here is a free tool that can help if you wish:
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/

Your Logs all look good, so let do this:

Remove combofix from the computer like this:

Click START then RUN
Now type or copy Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
