Have two malwares of:

win32.renos and win32.agent.xg

that when I remove come back. I assume it's some process which is running that is causing this. Perhaps a P2P program but will remove it as you requested in your notice. I would appreciate your help in this matter and give the log file of HijackThis 2.0.2

Hi

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer
Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu
select
Advanced Mode

On the left hand side, click on Tools
Then click on the Resident icon in the list
Uncheck
Resident TeaTimer
and OK any prompts.
Restart your computer

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

Hi there thanks for your help so far. Followed the instructions from bleepingcomputer.com and dragged the file I had downloaded from microsoft over combofix as instructed but am not sure whether I did it right and installed the recovery console first as it just asked if I wanted to run combofix, which I answered yes to. Anyway here's the combofix log:

Hi

Looks like you did it right :)

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

LimeWire

I'd like you to read the this thread (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282).

Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red).

Delete these folders afterwards:

C:\Program Files\LimeWire

Empty Recycle Bin.

After that:

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

File::
C:\WINDOWS\sysragfchqs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\syscdupretn.exe
C:\WINDOWS\sysgycnafek.exe

Folder::
C:\Program Files\LimeWire

Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"{7D5C078D-6337-46a1-852E-D1A97B8EBB8C}"=-
"{6739EFCB-69CF-41db-ADD7-79047E1BB2C0}"=-
"{1989CEB5-CC50-4314-9FD6-597E6F7CC50F}"=-

[HKLM\~\services\sharedaccess\parameters\firewallpolicy\standardprofile\AuthorizedApplications\List]
"C:\\Program Files\\LimeWire\\LimeWire.exe"=-

Save this as
CFScript

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
Then post the resultant log.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Hi there again and thanks. I will be honest with you and say that the machine I'm srting out is not my own and when the owner said they turned it back on that combofix reported that it had removed the malware, and this certainly seems to be the case. Although this said Kaspersky did report one infection which you can see in the log below, but it seems to be quarantined anyway. One thing with the instructrions on using kaspersky online is that I could not do step 3 "settings and save", as when I pressed "settings" the "save" button remained ghosted, so could not save the setting presumably; hope this hasn't affected the results. I have also done the jre update but as you told me to do it after the combofix program I don't think it'll show on the log. Also did the ATF clean as requested. So then, here are the logs, first kapersky:

Hi

Looks like this folder slipped past my eyes, remove it now:
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\LimeWire

The logs look quite good now :)

Before final phase I'd like to know how the system is running now.
