View Full Version : Edit PROCESS White list?

Hello all,
My name is Dax and I'm running v1.6 (TeaTimer 1.6.1)

I have noticed that TeaTimer stalls the loading of some programs, notably ACDSee 2.4, but I would also like to prevent it from interacting with some other software as I use this computer for work (recording, editing, mixing).

How can I add processes of my choice to the Process White List in TeaTimer?

Otherwise I need to disable TeaTimer altogether and I wouldn't like to do that.

All the best,
Dax.

What's the deal?
Does no-one, including the developers, know how to do this?
I just don't understand how that's possible.

Or that no-one else has ever wanted to stop TeaTimer from interfering with their software.

Don't get me wrong, TeaTimer is a VERy useful program that works quite well, but we need to be able to disable the way it acts on certain programs.

it makes it difficult because then we think someone is helping you when you have 4 replies. :)

Thats why no one has responded yet.

To answer you, please take a look at the faq under teatimer:

http://www.spybot.info/en/faq/index.html

You cannot add your own procceses of your choice as far as i know. There may be a tweak you can use, but to be honest i am not sure. Please wait for a team member. thanks! :)

Hey man, thank you very much for your reply.
I have only been bumping it because it's been falling out of circulation so quickly and I feel it's a very important issue.
I looked in the FAQ and did a lot fo internet scouring, but found nothing at all.

I have actually PMd 3 of the team members last week, but haven't heard a peep out of any of them.
Who should I try and how should I contact them?

"You cannot add your own procceses of your choice as far as i know."
So how do you get any items in there at all?

Thanks for your help! :)

I understand. :)
The way items are added to the teatimer is there is a whitelist of safe programs that you do not get asked about because they are known to be fine. The ones teatimer asks you about are programs that have not been classified or looked at by the spybot team or security vendors.

When change happens that should be allowed due to a program install, etc. that is known to be a safe program, teatimer gives no flag because it knows the option is safe to allow. However, if you right click teatimer, uncheck whitelists, you will be asked about everything on your computer that changes. So then even things on the whitelist you will be asked about. I do not recommened trying to pm a mod, just wait for them to see this thread. If they do not see it, i can try to ask one of them to help if this drags on without being seen. :) They are busy lately haha. :)

Does that help you with your question?
