Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
Make sure you read and follow the directions, anything else will slow the process and waste both of our time. I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do. The junk can be tough to remove, so do not expect fast or easy
1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)
2) A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
Tutorial
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
Remove any old copies of combofix before you proceed.
Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.
It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop.
Download ComboFix from Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
Post the combofix log and a new HJT log.
Thanks

Thanks for returning your information, first some information:
Enigma Software Group <<< see the links:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewtopic.php?t=24810
http://www.castlecops.com/t187654-free_spyware_scwnload_a013_com_unknown_questionable.html
My first instruction was this: disable TeaTimer/(leave TT disabled until we finish)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpybotSD TeaTimer] C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\TeaTimer.exe
If you wish that I continue, you must follow the directions.
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282 <<< see this information
If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. Help will be withdrawn should you not agree to their removal.
Azureus, Soulseek <<< uninstall all p2p programs
ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker
http://securitygarden.blogspot.com/2007/12/beware-of-zonealarm.html
http://www.benedelman.org/spyware/installations/askjeeves-banner/
http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=3143
http://forums.zonelabs.com/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=inst&message.id=74507
Follow the directions carefully and in the numbered order.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)
2) Download ResetTeaTimer.bat to the Desktop
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat
Double click ResetTeaTimer.bat
to remove all entries set by TeaTimer (and preventing TeaTimer to restore them upon reactivation).
3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
4) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall ZoneAlarmSB (Spy Blocker only)
5) Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the codebox below into it:
File::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CIRYyyay.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\CIRYyyay.ini
C:\WINDOWS\system32\JlUvyccf.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\uwxwDJlm.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\RBHjTvut.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\PoUwwyay.ini2
Registry::
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"=-
"AppInit_DLLs"="avgrsstx.dll"
Save this as CFScript
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe.
This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log. (wait until you finish to post the logs)
6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker BHO - {F0D4B231-DA4B-4daf-81E4-DFEE4931A4AA} - C:\Program Files\ZoneAlarmSB\bar\1.bin\SPYBLOCK.DLL

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: avgrsstx.dll oqtmzi.dll bowswc.dll
Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
*Cleaning Prefetch may results in a few slow starts until the folder is repopulated:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Gaining-Speed-Empty-Prefetch-XP.html
8) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe
* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post the log from CFScript, the log from MBAM and a new HJT log.
How is the computer running?
Thanks

I'm having trouble disabling tea timer, the icon you mention isn't there even in advanced mode I don't know if the virus has interfered with spybot I did have the latest version. on the tools menu there is no resident icon. I just have to disable it every time I re-start.

If you should continue to have trouble disabling TeaTimer, uninstall Spybot S&D in Add Remove programs, then restart the computer. You can install Spybot S&D again when we finish.
Thanks

That seems to have got it, i may have messed it up slightly by not re-booting after deleting some things but it seems to have worked anyway. I didn't see it re-install itself after the last re-boot.

Everything is looking good, you asked:
Thanks very much, can I re-start tea timer and zone alarm etc?
I never requested you turn off your firewall? Leave TT off until we finish.
This is the next important step:
I am sure you saw this:
WARNING -THIS MACHINE DOES NOT HAVE THE RECOVERY CONSOLE INSTALLED !!
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
Review that information to understand Recovery Console. Installation is optional but if you do not have the CD's needed, as is explained, it can be installed before we remove combofix.
If you do not have access to Recovery Console via a Windows CD, I strongly advise you to install this tool.
If you do not wish to install RC, let me know so I can continue with the cleanup.
If you install RC, post the C:\*CF-RC.txt*.

Since we do not need to scan with combofix, click NO

I am sorry, but this means absolutely nothing to me? You will have to provide more information that that. So many legitimate functions occur when you first start the computer.

Every time I re-start my computer when I have the virus just as I sign into windows I see two of those black box's that appear when a process is starting or stopping come up very quickly. That had stopped but this morning it happened again.

And you still have told me nothing? I am afraid I am not going to be able to help you. Can you get someone who has a little computer knowledge to look at this and see if they can communicate what it happening to me?
Thanks
Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Then post it here.

I asked someone he doesn't know exactly what they are called either, it's something like DOS box or window. They flash up really quickly so I don't have time to see what these ones are doing, but normally there's a flashing cursor and file names appear in them when you see them.
Sorry I don't know the technical term hope this gives you more of a clue what I mean, I'm running the scan now.

That does not help, it could be anything, valid as well as invalid. All I can do is make sure you are clean of malware which you appeared to be from the information I received so far. Kaspersky Online Scan (KOS) won't remove anything but it will give us a good deep scan to rely on. If that shows nothing to help, I will have to send you to a Windows XP forum for help with that issue.
Thanks

Thanks but nothing is there, those are in the combofix quarantine folder. I was waiting until Recovery Console was installed before removing that. Here is information about Recovery Console.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307654
Recovery Console is a tool that will allow you to recover from a catastrophic system failure, so let's hope you never need it. Many experts believe Microsoft should have installed it by default.
Remove combofix from the computer like this:
Click START then RUN
Now type or copy Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z176/EPL47/CF_Cleanup.png
Clean System Restore Files like this:
Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Reboot
Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Update MBAM and run a scan, no need to post it if clean.
Update AVG and scan the system, remove what it finds, if there is anything located it can not deal with, post the log which can be saved at the end of the scan.
Let me know at this point if you continue to have issues, and I will post links to a couple of good, free Windows XP forums.
