Howe to remove this crap ADAWARE?

I browser is taken over by I think ADWARE.
I that that annoying popup that says to buy Antivirsus, etc.
What tool do I use to remove this crap and is it free?
I download one tool, did the scan, b ut when I clicked on the button to actually remove the crap it wants me to pay for it?
All these tools say free but they all seem to want you to buy the removal piece of the tool??
