i'm having a problem with my computer. here's whats going on with it.

- making a 1 long beep and then hangs [still beeping]
- sometimes it stops then after a few minutes it beeps again

i tried pressing restart button but this happens:
- it makes 1 beep + 5 consecutive beeps. then shuts down
- or makes 2 consecutive beeps + 6 consecutive beeps and it wont turn on
- [reboot again] message appears: Windows could not start ..... file is missing or corrupt

<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe ---- re-install

i havent tried reinstalling that because sometimes when i try to turn it on its working again. im not sure why. i thought it was just over heating but i have open it just a couple of hours ago and i checked BIOS. temp seems to be just fine. what is the prob? what can i do? and if i try to repair/reinstall windows will i lose the files?

thanks!

Hi

To see if it's possibly malware related let's see your HijackThis log.

Download and install TrendMicro HijackThis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe)
* Once installed open HijackThis by clicking Start > Programs > HijackThis and click the button labeled
Do a system scan only

* Click the scan button in the lower left hand corner of the interface and HijackThis will quickly scan your system.
* Once the scan is complete the scan button will now read save log. Click this button to save the log file to your PC. Once you select where you would like to save the file it will open in your systems default text editor. Typically this application is Notepad. Post the log here.
