I tried to shred a dll that would not delete. When I use shredder it replaces that file with a new file named with random letters. How do I really shred these stuck DLLs?

boleyd:

You can not delete (or shread) a dll file that is in use.

One way to find out what process is using the dll:
Download Process Explorer from the following Web page:
Process Explorer
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Extract the downloaded ProcessExplorer.zip file.
Execute procexp.exe.
After Process Explorer starts, in the Find menu select Find Handle or DLL.
Type the name of the dll in the Handle or DLL Substring entry area and press enter.
