There is malware or something using my internet connection and causing my computer to run very slow. It seems to be loading before windows or something. I have run mcafee scans and even run the SDAT scan from DOS and nothing is detected. Here's my latest hijackthis log

4. A list of all items found will be displayed, or it will say "No hidden items found"

if anything is found do NOT elect to rename or clean anything, as legitimate entries could be found - click close

5. if you see "No hidden items found" click next then exit

On your desktop you will now see a log file, it will look something like this fsbl-20060105183235.log

6. open the log file and paste the contents into a post here... (if the log is too large to paste, then please attach it)

Hi

Well that's clean... it doesn't show the presence of a rootkit (rootkits hide programs & files from windows)

Let's try this one...

Please download RootkitRevealer.zip from :-

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/rootkitrevealer.html

(link is at the very bottom of the page)

1. Unzip it to your desktop.

2. Open the rootkitrevealer folder and double-click rootkitrevealer.exe

3. Click the Scan button

4. It is a deep scan which will take a considerable amount of time, I suggest you disconnect from the internet and leave the PC alone until its finished. (don't do anything while it's running)

5. When it's finished it will produce a log file, copy & paste the contents in your next post here.
