Yes, I too would love to remove it from Recycle Bin.
(That is, the contextmenu stating: 'Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy'.)

I went to SpyBot Mode Advanced : both Tools and Settings, but there is no setting there for the installation options that were given only at install time.
Thus, the 'Settings' is not all, just a lot.
Do I have to uninstall and start over again?
Is there a registry key I can change?

Good product.
But the user interface and controls not exactly intuitive, even for an experienced computer guy...

Thank you.

How do I remove Spybot from the right-click context menu?

This is looking very close to what I need -- but which one is for the Recycle Bin, and which one does the Windows Explorer folder/file menu item?
Or does Windows tie them both together, so you must either have both (Recycle Bin plus Explorer folders view) or neither?

Ideally, I would like to get rid of it from the Recycle Bin, but keep it in the Explorer menu.
But if both must go, that is what I shall do.
THANKS! Cheers!

I just did a little test, by renaming the string for each.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\sdfiles ---> this one applies to the Windows Explorer folder and file items.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\sdfiles ---> this one applies to the Windows Recycle Bin trash can.

HUH!? was someone at Microsoft not keeping up on their Jolt dosage when they coded this?? 'Folder' applies to trashcan, '*' applies to folders... guess I just don't know the 'Microsoft Way'...

Next step, for me to remove the "Folder" item.
THough I first export save the key just in case...
deleting HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\sdfiles and its subitem.

-- Ta Daa -- (horns flourish here) :2thumb:

Delete the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\sdfiles entry (it is one item with a sub-item). That instantly removes th Scan with Spybot from the Recycle Bin context menu.
Wish it wasn't quite so time consuming to figure all this stuff out...
Oh well,
Done now.

Best,
