Malware please help

[technique11]

I turn on my computer and as windows loads spybot asks me if i want to change numerous registry files. Being a stupid, impatient college student i decide it would be a brilliant idea to except all of them. Consequently my computer craps the bed. For example i will be connected to the internet but it will show me as unconnected, also i will go to web pages and other random webpages will surface along with it. I ran spybot and it said i had virtumonde virus on it, i tried to fix it but feel like it is still lurking in the darkness :fear: I ran a hijack deally and hopefully someone can help me. Im sorry if i did not go about doing this in the proper order, this is the first time i have ever used a blog in my life.

* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

do you mean the small animated connection icon thats by the system clock isnt showing?

log looks ok and malwarebytes didnt find much, are you having any pop ups or page redirects, how is it compared to before you ran malwarebytes?


Also the spybot registry files deally still keeps popping up
thats tea timer alerting you to some change that is about to take place, do you allow or deny it? is it the alert once in awhile or pretty much constant?
looks like you had and used combofix at one time.

yes the animated icon by the clock isnt working yet the internet is connected and working.



I do know accept or decline the registry files, i just let it sit there so i dont do something stupid.

i did use combofix :oops: at one point in time because i clicked on a blog for malware on this site and some guy told someother guy to use it. i thought it was the right thing to do but obviously i was totally wrong.

is there anything i can do? should i accept the registry changes?

for the icon try this;
in the classic view:
start>settings>network connections>right click on the local area connection icon, select> properties and check the box: show icon when connected

in the xp view:
start>control panel>network and internet connections>network connections, then right click the local area connection icon, properties and check the box like above.

you can remove combofix like this:
start>run and type in combofix /u and click ok
note: there is a space after the x and before the /

can you tell me what the registry change is? it will probably do no harm to deny the change until we find out what it is.
