Can you help me and my wife finish off fixing our computer?? we had gotten some trojans and other stuff just the other night. we only have nortons antivirus and the firewall that comes with windows xp. i do beleive we have sp2 running on it. has media center edition. we downloaded spybot and my wife tried fixing the computer. she is pretty good with them. it looks like we got rid of the hijacking of our home page to a page that told us to buy a program like spybot. and also got rid of a dialer program of some kind. now the only thing that keeps coming up on the spyware is a Vcodec c:\windows\system32\ncompat.tlb is the file associated with it. when we look at that file it shows 0 bytes of info in it. like it is just a shorcut or something, but spyware says it can't fix it because it is being used in memory or something like that. my wife told me to figure out if this is not a problem or do we need to to something with this Vcodec. if so what. i use the computer all the time but i am not into it other than surfing the net and playing games on it. so pretty much a newbie. my wife will probably be the one to try to fix it, if there is something else we can do.
thank you and hope to hear from you soon,
