In the process of working on a malware problem I decided to ask Spybot to scan the directory C:\Windows and the process has so far taken several hours and I wondered why. It surprised me that it took longer than the 20 min or so the program spends scanning my whole computer. What I did was to open my C Drive (have icon on desktop that is copied from My Computer) and then Right Click on Windows and then left click on "Scan with Spybot". Is the fact that the scan has taken several hours to run indicative of some problem? I am going to start another thread on the fact that regardless of the answer to this question I am pretty sure I do have malware on the computer even though nothing I have tried to scan with finds all of it.

is currently only meant to check small amounts of files and folders. Not a full scanner.

To scan your entire system, like your hard drives, please open spybot and click check for problems. That will check all hard disks on your system. I hope that helps you. :)
