Need help to finish cleaning this off

I'm working on my girlfriend's laptop, typical scenario she clicked something she shouldn't have, picked up a trojan downloader that installed a bunch of ad/malware on her laptop. I've cleaned up most of it with the exception of a few reoccuring files and the FakeAlerts that popup. Spybot detects the files in question but not the root source so upon reboot they're back in play. Googling has been of no use. I'm computer literate fyi, just can't seem to dig up the actual source file.

Also, forgot to mention two things:

1) her laptop will not boot into safemode, it just stop errors, "Failure to Initialize video driver." I cannot say for certain if it's related to something she picked up, or if it was a preexisting problem

2) One of the programs (Zango i think was the culprit) I removed, was never properly installed (as in no Add/remove programs entry) so when it was removed messed up the winsock settings, normally I'd run the "SDFix" to correct it, but SDFix can only be run in safemode (see above).

To fix winsock settings download and run WinSockFix (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml).

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.
