Why is S&D scanning a GPX file?

When I d-click a GPX file in an Explorer folder (to open the file in my GPS mapping program), S&D pops up, scans the file, reports OK, closes, leaving the file still unopened. Why?!

If I go to > Ignore File Extensions (which I'd never had cause to look at before), I see a list of file types, including GPX, DOC, JPG etc, all with an empty checkbox alongside. But I don't really understand how to interpret or use this, even after looking at Help. Can someone spell it out please? In particular, why are GPX files invoking this S&D scan, yet other types do not?

Right click on a GPX file and look at the context menu. If the "Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy" option is the first option in the menu, it will be executed by default if you double click on that type of file. You what "Open" as the default.

Excellent, thanks, much appreciate the fast response.

In fact only minutes before I'd found that thread but in my impatience had only seen the Registry editing approach. I successfully implemented that, although noting with regret that it therefore removed the right click context scan option from all file types.

But now I've re-toggled that registry entry and implemented the Default approach, which is great. :)
