I just installed Comodo firewall plus on this xp machine
the comodo scanner found
ApplicUnsf.Win32AdInstaller in TempInt Files
which is interesting as I had cleared them earlier this AM
this name does NOT google for me
I'm gonging to run another Spybot scan tomorrow after update

Try google of Win32/AdInstaller alone or combined with comodo. I find nothing relating to the first portion.

This may not track perfectly, but the name does look like a compound version without the forward slash.

most of the posters were in restore

I ran a spybot scan with yesterdays updates while working on taxes- nothing found this computer was a minor mess when I got it in- mostly from Norton popups saying that anti-virus was not installed- completely unusable for the end user
I'm not to concerned about ask toolbar leftovers but am going to track down the topic of this thread- any ideas?
