In the older versions there was a quick scan option, I don't seem to find it now. Also I believe the first scan to run was the registry and open ports, is that history too?

The information you've provided is too vague...
Spybot-SD does not really... offer a "Quick" scan or some sorts. There is only one scanning option (actually more than one, that includes the integrated Windows Explorer scanning and the registry scanning) in Spybot-SD itself.
When you first open Spybot-Search&Destroy, you'll be presented with three options (focusing in the middle) that is "Check for Problems (that is the scanning)", Recovery, and Check for Updates.
I'm not sure what you mean by a registry scan, open ports, and history.

It seems I got Spybot confused with Trojan Hunter. Trojan Hunter has port scan and quick scan options.
