The title is what Ad-Aware Found on my computer. I run and pay for AVG but it didn't detect anything.
None of my web browsers work and nothing will update. The only thing that will update is Ad-Aware. Also both of my cd drives show that they are corrupt or files are missing.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Make sure you read and follow the directions, anything else will slow the process and waste both of our time. I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
The junk can be tough to remove, so do not expect fast or easy.

See this information: http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=19457
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Win32.Trojan-Dropper.Delf+&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=
I am not sure how this applies to you yet, but Ad-Aware may be finding a false-positive?

I will try to help, but you may have complex issues here, and it may take some time. Let's start with information for you.

C:\Program Files\NavigationEnhancer\NavigationEnhancer-2.dll (file missing)
This is a dead item but just the fact it is there indicates this:
http://www.systemlookup.com/CLSID/23912.html now see this:
http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Security/Trojan-Infects-More-Than-500000-PCs/

This brings us to the policy at Safer Networking:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282

If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. Help will be withdrawn should you not agree to their removal.
If you have any p2p program installed, uninstall them.

The next issue is this: C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\ <<< out of date.
The Java program is VERY BADLY out of date and wil get you infected if it has not already.
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
We have found very old Java programs can be hard to uninstall, that being the case, this tool will help.
http://www.majorgeeks.com/JavaRa_d5967.html

Let's start the cleanup like this:

1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(the Google Toolbar items are damaged, if you use them I would install the toolbar again once we finish)
O2 - BHO: Google Toolbar Helper - {AA58ED58-01DD-4d91-8333-CF10577473F7} - c:\program files\google\googletoolbar1.dll (file missing)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

3) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

*Cleaning Prefetch may result in a few slow starts until the folder is repopulated:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Gaining-Speed-Empty-Prefetch-XP.html

4) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

Malware Bytes would not update on my computer, same as everything else.
What is the message you get "word for word" when you try to update MBAM? any other program that is not updating?
Since this is a freeware program, consider the possibility that others may have been downloading or updating, the program is very used and you may have to try a few times. I usually update at off periods, very early or very late. Post word for word and other error message you receive.

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_03\ <<< I am still showing an out of date Java program?

TeaTimer was NOT running in the first HJT log? If it were I would have posted instructions to disable it?
We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

MBAM removed a load of junk, before I consider my next move, I need to see the uninstall list as posted in the instruction #5.

Thanks

the error message for Malware bytes states, "Update failed, please make sure you are onnected to the internet and that you firewall is set to let Malwarebytes Anti-Malware access the internet. Firefox web browser used to say "server was reset while attempting to download page" Thats not a direct quote but close as i have unistalled it. Internet Explorer just gives me the regular can not display webpage. AVG states that "the connection with the server has failed, please check the following steps..." and here's the unistall list, very sorry. there is alot more here than on the windows explorer unistall list.

Thanks for that feedback, I just updated MBAM at 8:30 AM EST with no issues?

Uninstall list: I look for malware and security issues and will not know all of your programs, but you should. Hackers are using out of date programs to infect folks more and more, here is a small free tool that lets you know when something needs an update if you are interested:
https://psi.secunia.com/ While PSI runs in the System Tray for realtime notifications, I personally prefer to turn it off in MSConfig and run it from All Programs when I want to do a check.

Adobe Reader 7.0.8 <<< out of date and being exploited
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2

LimeWire 4.18.3 <<< uninstall all p2p programs
File Sharing, otherwise known as Peer To Peer. (P2P)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282

If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. Help will be withdrawn should you not agree to their removal.

Viewpoint Media Player <<< if you do not use this, I would uninstall it
For your information, Viewpoint is installed by aol probably without your knowledge. I suggest you uninstall this resource waster in Add Remove programs.

AVG states that "the connection with the server has failed, please check the following steps
I use AVG 8, if yours is free also, seems during busy times I get this. Try updating very early or late at night. I also find that if anything else is running it can happen. When I do updates, I stop anything using internet access including email downloads.
AVG can also be updated manually, here are helpful links:
FAQ: http://www.avg.com/faq
AVG Free Forum
http://freeforum.avg.com/
http://free.avg.com/ww.download-update

Have you added any security programs recently, had a friend with this issue and he found Zone Alarm was not allowing the updater access to the internet.

Moving on, TeaTimer is running in this recent HJT log. If I had seen TT in the first log, I would have posted instructions for disabling it. Please turn TT off until we finish.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpybotSD TeaTimer] C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy2\TeaTimer.exe

Once TT is disabled, post a new HJT log, tell me how the computer is running, about any malware issues beside the update problems.

Thanks

I don't know that i still have Malware issues or not. None of the scans from AVG, MalwareBytes or Spybot is comming up with anything. I manualy updated AVG and Spybot which turned the TT on. AVG is the paid version with a 3 year term.
I still have no Web browsers and nothing will update through the internet connection, Either something is blocking it or reseting the connection every time i try it. Both my CD burner and CD Reader hace an explamation mark next to them. States files are missing or corrupt.
TT is off and i believe i have everything deleted that needs to be...

Nothing showing in the HJT log, let's see if you can use another browser.

Download Firefox here:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Let me know if you can use this browser.

CD burner and CD Reader hace an explamation mark next to them. States files are missing or corrupt. Have you tried to reinstall the software? Post the error message word for word and I will see what I can find out. Does not sound like a malware issue?

Thanks

tried to reinstall mozilla and when it tried to load up it gives me an error. CONNECTION INTERUPTED. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. The network link was interupted while negotiating a connection, please try again.

Also, i bought a new windows cd and backed up a few simple things i need. while trying to load windows home it said that it didn't recognize an onboad SATA hard drive. So, i went and bought a new one and still get the same message. it recognizes in system setup just not in windows. i've tried every configuration and it won't go?

Are you connected to the interent through a router? If so, see what happens when you connect direct to the computer. I also suggest you involve your ISP, have them check all of your settings. If it were one program, I would suspect them, but it seems you have problems with them all so it may be the internet connect.

See the information in these links:
See this: http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-13043-i-can-connect-to-the-internet-but-not-router

Let's look at bit for something hidden. If nothing comes up, I will suggest free forums that can help with connections issues. Because of the connection issues, if you can't install Recovery Console, don't be concerned.

Let's start with combofix, if you have trouble downloading it, download it to another computer and bring it to the infected computer via remodable media.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed

Please continue as follows:

1) Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

2) Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you. Post that report and a new HJT log

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use

Thanks

i still show the files missing or corrupt message by my cd drives though
Can you not reinstall those from your original installation disks?
